Jay Matthew Kenyon is a Harrisonburg, Virginia man from the Shenandoah Valley whose January 6 conviction did not survive the year it was handed down. He was 47 when his case went to trial in Washington, more than three years after the day itself. (FACT, WSET, WHSV) HIS LEGAL FIGHT. The FBI arrested Jay Matthew Kenyon on February 28, 2023. On October 1, 2024, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia found him guilty on five counts, one felony count of civil disorder and four misdemeanors including entering and remaining in a restricted building and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced him to 15 months. (FACT, WSET, WHSV, Cville Right Now) Then the whole thing came apart. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions, and reporting in the Valley noted the conviction stood to be dismissed. (FACT, Daily News-Record) CASE RECORD, as preserved from the DOJ Capitol Breach list this archive mirrored after the government scrubbed it from justice.gov. The archived row for Jay Matthew Kenyon carries no case number, no court, no arrest date and no disposition, so the news record above stands as the sourced account. Charges are charges. Nothing on this page states guilt beyond the court record, and a conviction covered by clemency is not a life sentence on a man's name. Jay Matthew Kenyon. Harrisonburg, Virginia. The docket is closed. The rest of the page, his work, his family, his Valley, is his to fill. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
