Jason Farris is a North Texas father whose proudest moment in this whole fight was simple: being in the crowd when his son graduated high school. FACT: Jason Farris, 45, of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, was arrested in February 2023 on charges from January 6. (FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, DOJ) FACT: He pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting or impeding officers. (DOJ) FACT: On February 23, 2024, Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced him to 18 months, well under the 27 months prosecutors asked for. (Law and Crime) FACT: The judge granted him travel to attend his son's June 2024 high school graduation. (Law and Crime) THEIR ACCOUNT: His aunt told the court Jason repeatedly expressed disappointment in himself and planned a lot of self-reflection and self-improvement. She also told the court his Texas employer agreed to hold his job for him until his release. (Law and Crime) FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued a clemency proclamation covering the January 6 prosecutions. A man whose boss holds his job open and whose family shows up in court letters is a man with roots. Jason Farris has both.
