Jared Miller is a Chesapeake, Virginia father who ran for his city's school board in 2022 and was charged over January 6 the next year. He put his name on a ballot for his kids. FACT: Jared Miller announced a run for the Chesapeake School Board in January 2022. He had daughters in the local schools and ran against mask mandates, WAVY reported. FACT: On November 8, 2022, he drew 7,525 votes, 11th in a field of 13 for five at-large seats. A dad who showed up for the school board. That is who he was before any federal complaint. FACT: Jared Miller, 37, of Chesapeake, was arrested August 23, 2023, in Chesapeake and made his first court appearance in the Eastern District of Virginia. The case was charged out of Washington, D.C. CHARGE ONLY: Prosecutors charged two felonies, civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, plus misdemeanor counts including entering a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct, engaging in physical violence, and impeding passage. The government alleges he pushed and struck officers and pulled at barricades on the Capitol's West Front. Those are the government's words in a charging announcement. No jury ever heard them. Jared Miller is presumed innocent of every count. WHERE THINGS STAND: FACT: His case was still open in January 2025, when he asked the court for permission to travel to Washington for the inauguration. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump's clemency proclamation covered the January 6 prosecutions and directed the dismissal of pending cases. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: the exact dismissal entry on his docket. No trial. No verdict. No conviction on the record this archive could find. We found nothing published about his work, his church, or his own account of that day. If you know him, send receipts, evidence, witnesses. We will not invent the rest. We will publish it the day it comes from him.
