Jamie Wright is a 36-year-old man from Bowerston, Ohio, a Harrison County village of a few hundred people in the eastern Ohio coal and farm country. Bowerston has fewer residents than most high school graduating classes. That is the place a federal case came looking for, three years and nine months after the fact. THE MAN AND THE PLACE FACT: Jamie Wright of Bowerston, Ohio was 36 at the time of the case. Bowerston sits in Harrison County, in the eastern Ohio hills. (Source: NPR January 6 case database, compiled from federal court records; DOJ press release, October 2024.) FACT: He was arrested on October 23, 2024, in Canton, Ohio. That is three years, nine months and seventeen days after January 6, 2021. THE CHARGES, AND ONLY THE CHARGES CHARGE ONLY, NEVER PROVEN: Civil Disorder; Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building. FACT: The government alleged in its filing that Jamie Wright pulled at bike rack barricades officers were holding. That is an allegation in a charging document. It is not a finding. No jury ever weighed it. (Source: DOJ charging document as reported by court reporters covering the case.) FACT: Jamie Wright pleaded NOT GUILTY to every count. HOW IT ENDED FACT: On January 24, 2025, the court granted the government motion to dismiss the case WITH PREJUDICE. FACT: Ninety-three days from arrest to permanent dismissal. Dismissed with prejudice means the government cannot refile it. Ever. FACT: He was never tried. He was never convicted. He was never sentenced. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. THE PRESUMPTION Jamie Wright is presumed innocent of every charge listed above. Nothing in this record overcame that presumption, because the government itself asked the court to end the case permanently and the court agreed. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE It does not prove what any camera saw on the west front that day. It proves what the docket shows: a man from a village in Harrison County, Ohio, charged in late 2024, cleared off the docket with prejudice in January 2025, no conviction. THE RECORD U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, docket 1:24-cr-274020 series. Charging document on file at CourtListener. Arrested October 23, 2024. Dismissed with prejudice January 24, 2025. Bowerston, Harrison County, Ohio. Ninety-three days. No verdict. The record does not lie. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
