James Wayne Maryanski
January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageJames Wayne Maryanski is a registered nurse from Boyertown, Pennsylvania who spent his working life caring for people most folks would rather not think about. Before January 6 ever touched his name, Maryanski was an RN in Berks County, and he worked as a contract nurse in the detention unit at Philadelphia Police Headquarters. That is the medical staff who look after people in custody. He was 52. When the federal case came, he showed his supervisors the ankle monitor himself and told them about the charges pending in Washington. He did not hide it. He was barred from the building the next day. (FACT, The Philadelphia Inquirer) Read that again. The man told on himself to his own bosses rather than work a shift under false pretenses. WHAT THE GOVERNMENT ALLEGED, AND ONLY ALLEGED. James Wayne Maryanski was arrested on August 25, 2023 and charged with civil disorder and assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers using a deadly or dangerous weapon. Prosecutors alleged he sprayed a chemical irritant toward a police line. CHARGE ONLY. Those allegations were never tested at trial, no jury ever returned a verdict on them, and Maryanski carries the presumption of innocence on every count. (FACT that he was charged, per WFMZ and the DOJ record; the underlying conduct remains an allegation) HOW IT ENDED. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. His case never reached a verdict. (FACT) CASE RECORD, as preserved from the DOJ Capitol Breach list this archive mirrored after the government scrubbed it from justice.gov: Case 1:23-mj-00219, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Charges, per the DOJ record: See accompanying documents. Charges are charges. Nothing on this page states guilt beyond the court record, and there is no conviction in this record. James Wayne Maryanski. Boyertown, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Registered nurse. Two years inside a federal case that never went to a jury. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you, or your family, claiming it is free, forever.
