Jacob Davis is a North Georgia man, 31 years old, from Adairsville in Bartow County, and he was living openly in his hometown for nearly three years before anyone came looking for him. He was arrested in Adairsville. He never ran. He never hid. WHO HE IS FACT: Jacob Davis is 31 and from Adairsville, Georgia. He was arrested there on October 17, 2023, in his hometown, and appeared in federal court in Washington on October 24, 2023. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution; WRGA; NPR Jan. 6 Archive) FACT: He was the 29th person with Georgia ties to be charged in the January 6 investigation. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution) FACT: Investigators identified Jacob Davis through phone location data, closed circuit video, and officers' body cameras, and listed him as BOLO number 353 on the FBI's seeking information photos. He was found by cameras, not by a tip from anyone who knew him. THE CHARGES, AS CHARGES CHARGE ONLY: Jacob Davis was charged with civil disorder, assaulting officers with a deadly or dangerous weapon, and six other counts. Prosecutors alleged he pressed against a police line in the Lower West Terrace tunnel and threw a wooden board that landed on officers. These were allegations in a charging document, and the deadly weapon language refers to the board, not a firearm. HIS LEGAL FIGHT FACT: Jacob Davis pleaded guilty to ONE count, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers with a deadly or dangerous weapon. Sentencing was set for February 6, 2025. FACT: He never reached that date and never served a sentence on this case. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions, and on January 23, 2025, the court granted the government's motion to dismiss the case against Jacob Davis with prejudice.
