Hunter Allen Ehmke is a young man from Glendora, California, a foothill town in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles. Before January 6, 2021 he was a private citizen nobody outside Glendora had ever heard of. One day changed that. Hunter Allen Ehmke was arrested January 13, 2021, one week after the Capitol. That made him one of the very first Capitol cases charged out of Southern California. FACT, per the U.S. Department of Justice and Glendora coverage from KTLA and ABC7 Los Angeles. FACT: He pleaded guilty on January 13, 2022 to a single felony count of destruction of government property. One count. That is what the government charged and that is what he answered for. FACT: On May 13, 2022 he was sentenced to four months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, and $2,821 in restitution. He served the time. He paid the restitution. He came home to Glendora. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: Every contemporaneous report of the Ehmke case describes a property offense. No assault on an officer. No conspiracy. No sedition. Read the DOJ charging language and the sentencing coverage and see for yourself. That is the entire federal record against this man. Four months, three years supervised, and a restitution check. Anybody telling you more than that is telling you something the record does not say. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: Nothing here speaks to who Hunter Ehmke is at a kitchen table, on a job site, or with his family. The archive has not found that reporting yet. If it exists, send it.
