Gregory Yetman of Helmetta, New Jersey is a heavy equipment operator who spent his adult life as a soldier in the New Jersey Army National Guard and left it wearing sergeant stripes. Start with the service, because that is where he started. Gregory Yetman served in the New Jersey Army National Guard from 2008 until 2022. Military police. He finished as a sergeant. [FACT, Stars and Stripes] Helmetta is a borough of about two thousand people in Middlesex County. Everybody there knows everybody. In November 2023 that small town went national for two days. FBI agents came with a warrant. Gregory Yetman ran, over a fence and into the woods and the train tracks. Helicopters over Helmetta. Search dogs. Agents in camouflage. [FACT] He ended it himself, and nobody got hurt ending it. He did not drag it out after that. On April 25, 2024, Gregory Yetman pleaded guilty to one felony count of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers with physical contact, and he admitted using a pepper spray canister on officers for twelve to fourteen seconds.
