Gregory Charles Peck, Jr. is a 51 year old Burke County man from Connelly Springs, North Carolina, in the foothills west of Hickory. Read this part slow, because it is the whole story. Gregory Charles Peck, Jr. pleaded NOT GUILTY. He was never tried. He was never convicted. He was never sentenced. The government dismissed the case with prejudice. THE LEGAL FIGHT. FACT: Peck was arrested on August 7, 2024 in Valdese, North Carolina, more than three and a half years after January 6, 2021. FACT: he was charged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia with two felony counts, Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon and Civil Disorder, plus misdemeanor counts of Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds with a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds with a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon, Engaging in Physical Violence in a Restricted Building or Grounds with a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building, and an Act of Physical Violence in the Capitol Grounds or Buildings. The complaint also listed two additional counts of Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers. FACT: he entered a plea of NOT GUILTY to all charges. FACT: on January 22, 2025, the court granted the government's motion to DISMISS THE CASE WITH PREJUDICE. Dismissed with prejudice means the government cannot bring it again. CHARGE ONLY: every allegation against Gregory Charles Peck, Jr. is exactly that, an allegation from a criminal complaint that was never tested at trial and never proven to any judge or jury. He is presumed innocent, and the case ended without a conviction. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE: nothing here was proven. Not one count. A Burke County, North Carolina man was arrested, arraigned, and released without a conviction of any kind. FACT: on January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. CASE RECORD. Case 24-mj-238, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
