Freedom Vy is a contractor from the Philadelphia area whose father named him Freedom on purpose. Kevin Vy fled communist Vietnam as a refugee and came to America. He named his son Freedom. In his own words: "We were looking for Freedom. That is why I give him that name." FACT, reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Sit with that. "I know with these rallies it can get a little rowdy, and everything going through my head was just to keep people safe." His attorney, Alfred Guillaume III, told the court Freedom Vy "has expressed great regret in his affiliation with the Proud Boys, and his actions on Jan. 6, 2021," and that he is not a violent offender.
