Frederic Fiol is a San Antonio, Texas man. Forty-one years old. He is one of seventeen people with San Antonio ties the federal government pursued over January 6. He was not arrested for what he did with his hands. He was arrested for what he sent to a friend on Facebook Messenger. ## The legal fight An informant contacted the FBI and said Frederic Fiol had sent them videos from inside the U.S. Capitol. That was the start. The bureau then pulled his Facebook account. He was arrested on April 11, 2023, in San Antonio, more than two years after January 6, 2021. He was charged with four MISDEMEANORS. No felony. No assault charge. No weapon. Frederic Fiol pleaded guilty to TWO of them: disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. The other two were dismissed. On March 15, 2024, the court sentenced him to 45 days of incarceration, 24 months of probation, a $20 special assessment, and $500 in restitution. ## Clemency On January 20, 2025, Frederic Fiol received a full pardon under the presidential proclamation covering January 6 convictions. ## What the record shows FACT: every count charged against Frederic Fiol of San Antonio, Texas was a misdemeanor. FACT: the federal case against him was built on private Facebook messages handed over by someone he considered a friend. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE: he was charged 27 months after January 6. That timeline is in the docket. ## What this does not prove A man sending a video to a friend is not a man with a plan. Forty-five days is the sentence, and 45 days is what the sentence means. Misdemeanor is not felony. The record does not lie. ## Case record - Case: 23-mj-00550, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia - Complaint filed: April 7, 2023 - Arrest: April 11, 2023, San Antonio, Texas - Plea: Guilty, two misdemeanor counts - Sentence: 45 days incarceration, 24 months probation, $500 restitution, March 15, 2024 - Clemency: Full pardon, January 20, 2025 This profile is unclaimed.
