Documented editorial-use imageFrank J. Scavo is a Northeastern Pennsylvania businessman, a former president of the Old Forge School Board, and a man who once put his own name on a ballot for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Old Forge is a small town. When Frank Scavo did something, the whole town knew it was him. He did not slip into Washington quietly. He chartered buses. Roughly 200 of his neighbors from the Scranton area rode to the January 6 rally with him. FACT, reported by WUSA9. That is the part most coverage skips. Frank Scavo was the guy organizing a bus trip for his community. THE LEGAL FIGHT Scavo was charged by criminal information in March 2021. He pleaded guilty on September 8, 2021 to one count, a Class B misdemeanor, parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. FACT, court record. His attorneys told the court he was regretful and that he had cooperated with the government. FACT, reported by WUSA9. On January 20, 2025 a Presidential proclamation granted a full, complete and unconditional pardon for offenses relating to events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. That proclamation covers misdemeanor Capitol convictions of this kind. DOCUMENTED INFERENCE as applied to Frank Scavo, pending a pardon certificate confirmation. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE It does not prove Frank Scavo hurt anyone. There is no assault charge in his record. WHAT IT DOES PROVE A 58 year old Old Forge man with a school board record and a bus full of neighbors served 60 days for a Class B misdemeanor. That is the record. CASE RECORD Name: Frank J. Scavo.
