Deborah Lynn Lee of Olyphant, Pennsylvania is a Lackawanna County woman who did the one thing almost nobody in these cases did. She said no to the plea. She asked for a trial. Out of ten defendants from her region of Pennsylvania, Deborah Lynn Lee was the only one who refused a plea agreement and demanded her day in court. FACT, per WVIA. Then in April 2023, more than a year later, prosecutors added a felony count of obstruction of an official proceeding, carrying up to 20 years. Her attorney John Pierce argued in open court that the new felony was "vindictiveness and retaliation masked as trial preparation" because Deborah Lee had rejected plea offers and asked for trial. United States and gutted the way DOJ had been using that obstruction statute against January 6 defendants. On August 2, 2024, her 58th birthday, Judge Amy Berman Jackson dismissed the felony. On January 20, 2025, seven days before that sentencing date, President Trump granted clemency covering the January 6 prosecutions. FACT. Deborah Lynn Lee never served a day.
