David A. Ball, Jr. is a small business owner from Wells, Maine. He runs Broken Glass Company, a glass shop in York County. Thirty-seven years old. A tradesman who built something with his own name on the truck. He was wearing his own company sweatshirt on January 6, 2021. That is how people recognized him. He never hid who he was. ## Who he is David Ball of Wells, Maine operates Broken Glass Company. Glass work is a trade. It is measuring, cutting, hauling, fitting, and showing up when somebody's window is broken in February in Maine. That is the job he built and that is the job he went back to. ## The legal fight Federal agents arrested David A. Ball, Jr. on March 23, 2023, in Portland, Maine, more than two years after January 6, 2021. He was charged with four MISDEMEANORS. No felony. No assault count. No weapon. On October 4, 2023, he pleaded guilty to ONE count: parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building. The other three were dismissed. On January 11, 2024, the court sentenced him to 24 months of PROBATION, a $10 special assessment, a $500 fine, and $500 in restitution. No prison. Local reporting ahead of his sentencing described him as extraordinarily remorseful. ## Clemency On January 20, 2025, David A.
