Dr. Daphne Kasperek is an emergency medicine physician from the Lowes Island area of Loudoun County, Virginia. (Source: Loudoun Now; Loudoun Times-Mirror; Healthgrades) FACT: On January 6, 2021 she and her husband entered the Capitol through the Senate Wing door at about 2:23 p.m., stayed in the Crypt, and were directed out by an officer roughly twelve minutes later, a brief window inside the building. Public physician-directory listings show her practicing emergency medicine in Leesburg, Virginia, in the same Loudoun County community named in the case. (Source: Loudoun Times-Mirror; Healthgrades) FACT: She was charged by criminal complaint in March 2021, unsealed March 28, 2021, and later pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds, for entering the building. (Source: Loudoun Times-Mirror; NPR January 6 Defendants Database) CORRECTION: This profile previously said only that clemency applied to her case. The fuller record: her sentencing had been reset for February 7, 2025. On January 22, 2025, two days after the clemency proclamation, the court granted the government's motion to dismiss her case with prejudice, before that sentencing hearing ever happened. She was never sentenced. (Source: NPR January 6 Defendants Database) WHERE THINGS STAND: Case closed by dismissal following the January 20, 2025 clemency proclamation.
