Daniel Lyons Scott — Englewood, Florida. This one we report straight. No spin, in either direction. FACT: He was 30 years old, from Englewood in southwest Florida. (WINK News; WUSF) FACT: On 2/9/2023 he pleaded GUILTY — his own decision, no trial — to felony obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers. He accepted responsibility rather than make the government prove it. (Washington Post; WUSF) FACT: The government''s account, which he admitted to: he was in the first group of rioters to enter the building, pushed two officers, and pulled one officer into the crowd. Officers were hurt that day. This archive does not minimize that and will not. (DOJ; Washington Post) FACT: On 7/12/2023 he was sentenced to 60 months in prison, 26 months of supervised release, and $2,000 restitution. (WUSF; Washington Post) FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued clemency in January 6 cases. Confirm individual status against the docket before repeating it. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: No verified fundraiser, statement of remorse, or self-published account located. If he or his family wants to put his own words on this page — including anything he has to say to the officers involved — the page is his to claim.
