Dana Jean Bell is from Princeton, Texas — a grandmother in her sixties when she traveled to Washington for January 6, 2021. She had never been in trouble like this in her life. [FACT / news reporting] On the east side of the Capitol she pushed on police barricades, moved to the front of the crowd, made contact with an officer and grabbed at his baton. She pleaded guilty to a felony assault count and was sentenced to 17 months. [FACT — court record] What sets Dana's story apart is what she said afterward. She told the court and the press she had been duped by lies about the election, that she took responsibility, and that she regretted ever answering that call. Remorse, stated plainly and publicly. [THEIR ACCOUNT — court proceedings and interviews] On January 20, 2025, President Trump pardoned the January 6 defendants, Dana among them. [FACT] A woman who made a serious mistake, said so honestly, and asked to be judged as a whole person. The record: pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers; sentenced to 17 months in prison, 36 months supervised release, and $2,000 restitution; pardoned January 20, 2025. U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you — or your family — claiming it is free, forever.
