Corey Horan was one of the many thousands of Americans who came to Washington on January 6, 2021. FACT: The government did not charge him until August 2023 — more than two and a half years later. The counts were misdemeanors tied to conduct on Capitol grounds, not violence. (Court docket; Insurrection Index.) FACT: He was released on his own recognizance. No detention. The case moved fast and closed by early 2024. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency to January 6 defendants. That covered Corey. To most people he is a line on a list.
