Cameron Clapp is from Cambria, on California's Central Coast, and his life story started making headlines a decade before January 6 ever happened. He lost both legs above the knee and his right arm below the shoulder in a train accident in 2001, and doctors and physical therapists still point to his recovery, walking independently again within five months, as extraordinary. From there, Cameron Clapp became a motivational speaker and a certified peer visitor with the Amputee Coalition of America, mentoring young amputees and spending countless hours visiting wounded Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in the Walter Reed Army Medical Center programs.
