Brandon Cavanaugh is a United States Marine Corps veteran — an infantryman who served eight years, deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq, and earned two Combat Action Ribbons before leaving the Corps as a sergeant in 2011. That service is the heart of Brandon's story. After the Marines he built a life around what he knew best, founding Tactical Citizen and working as a tactical instructor. Earlier in life he had also served as a NASA engineering intern — a reminder that this is a man of discipline and range. Brandon was among the crowd at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. He was arrested in August 2022 and his case proceeded in Washington. Like so many veterans who were there that day, his service record speaks to a life of showing up for his country. On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted sweeping clemency to January 6 defendants, closing this chapter for Brandon Cavanaugh and hundreds of others. Case record: United States v. Brandon Cavanaugh, No. 1:22-mj-183, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you — or your family — claiming it is free, forever.
