Boyd Allen Camper is a United States Marine Corps veteran and a Montana real estate man out of the Missoula area. He served. Then he came home and built something with his own name on it. HIS STORY AND HIS SERVICE [FACT] Camper is a former Marine. NBC News and Axios both identified him as a Marine Corps veteran in their sentencing coverage. [FACT] Montana television reported that before January 6 he was a licensed Montana real estate agent, that he owned Equity Homes LLC, and that he was developing the Philipsburg Guest Ranch. [THEIR ACCOUNT] His own business biography said he had successfully flipped more than 200 residential properties. [THEIR ACCOUNT] He said he went to Washington because he believed the election was fraudulent, and that he felt called to answer as a Marine Corps veteran. [FACT] After January 6, Montana television reported that friends, business associates and companies cut ties with him, that he became a pariah in his own state, and that he moved out of Montana. He lost the business before a judge ever handed down a sentence. That part never shows up in the docket. THE LEGAL FIGHT [FACT] Camper was arrested March 12, 2021, with an initial appearance March 15, 2021. [FACT] He was charged by criminal information April 28, 2021. He was arraigned May 19, 2021 and pleaded not guilty to all counts. [FACT] He entered a plea agreement August 5, 2021 and pleaded guilty to Count 4, parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. That is a petty offense. [FACT] He was sentenced November 12, 2021 to 60 days incarceration, 60 hours of community service, and $500 restitution. Montana coverage identified him as the first Montanan to plead guilty in a January 6 case. [FACT] On January 20, 2025 the President issued a proclamation granting full, complete and unconditional pardons to individuals convicted of offenses related to the events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. Boyd Allen Camper's misdemeanor conviction falls within that grant. WHAT THIS DOES NOT PROVE Camper was never charged with assaulting anyone. He was never charged with destroying anything. He was never charged with carrying a weapon. He pleaded to walking where the government said he could not walk.
