Yes, I Can Build You a Marketplace With AI In It

Listings, auctions, an AI listing builder, a live fee engine, QR verified pickup, and the trust layer that decides whether a marketplace survives.

People hear "he builds websites" and picture a homepage with a contact form.

So let me show you the other end of what this stack does.

Gideon Commerce is a full marketplace. Listings, auctions, offers, branded seller storefronts, an AI listing builder, a live fee calculator, cross listing exports, QR verified local pickup, and seller trust systems.

Say it plainly up front: the site footer says Demo build, and the listings on it are demo data. I am not claiming sales, revenue, or users. I am showing you the machine, not a track record.

What is actually in it

The AI listing builder takes a photo and a few words and produces a title, description, bullets, keywords, and a price range, which the seller reviews before it publishes. That last clause matters. AI drafts, human approves. That is how you use this stuff without embarrassing yourself.

A profit calculator that shows platform fee, processing, shipping, tax, and net payout before you list. Margin math built into the listing flow instead of a spreadsheet on the side.

Auctions and offers, so buyers can bid or negotiate on eligible categories.

Local pickup with pickup codes and QR confirmation, which solves the bulky item problem that kills most marketplace models.

Liquidation and manifest tools where you upload a manifest, grade the lot, estimate margin, and generate a draft listing. That one comes straight out of my wholesale years.

Cross listing export to CSV mapped for eBay, Shopify, and Facebook Marketplace, free. The exit door, built in on purpose.

The trust layer is the hard part

Anybody can build a listings page. The reason marketplaces fail is the part nobody sees.

Restricted categories blocked outright. Vehicles and real estate routed to lead only with no checkout, because brokerage is a licensing problem you do not want to accidentally walk into. A high ticket threshold at five thousand dollars that triggers manual review and enhanced verification. Identity and business verification before a seller can publish. Every risky admin action logged to an immutable audit trail.

One honest note about the comparison chart

The homepage runs a comparison showing net to seller across platforms.

I am not reproducing those numbers here, and I want to say why in the open. The same page states the seller keeps ninety nine percent in one section, shows a ninety four dollar eighty cent net payout in the sample calculator, and shows ninety six dollars in the comparison graphic, because each one is counting different costs. Those are three different questions being answered with three different numbers.

That is a clarity problem on my own product, and the honest move is to disclose it here and go fix it there rather than publish a chart I would have to walk back. The chart on that page also carries its own verify our numbers caveat, which is the right instinct.

What this proves

If you want an ecommerce platform with AI in it, a fee engine, auctions, seller onboarding, verification, storefronts, and a real trust and compliance layer, that is not a theory I can pitch you. It is a thing that exists and you can click through it right now.

The kind of build large platforms tell a small team it cannot ship.

If you have been quoted six figures for a marketplace

Go click through the demo, open the fee calculator, and look at the trust center.

Then come tell me what your version needs to do differently, and we will map it.

Own your platform. Especially if your platform is the thing other people sell on.
